met up with the girls in the evening for dinner. but before dinner, we went to take neoprints. it was super random and hy actually thot tat neoprints have extinct. =) had lotsa fun n the pictures r beautiful arent they?! stayed out the night at starbucks but became too tired n we went hm early since there's syf the next day.
so the night before syf was a sleepless night. n finally daybreak came! met up with mary n xy for lunch in the heavy storm, feeling worried and totally had no appetite at all. went to school, helped the band major with her shoes, watched the motivational video n we headed to the stadium!
PING YI MARCHING BAND GOT A WELL DESERVING SILVER!
although we expected/prayed for a gold, we got a silver. but we/i thot that judging have become very strict. but never mind since the members did put in their best effort and our performance didnt look very much worst then the other silver bands. n although tahir fractured his wrist the very day before the competition, his throws and catches were so beautiful! n it was the members' spirit that totally made me feel tat this competition is not just a competition for the award. aft they played for the school, they danced and celebrated to the beats of the drums, and i could see that although it was a silver, everyone enjoyed their time throughout, and it have trained all of them to become better men and women of pyss. the school spirit had also surprised me as i didnt expect the ping yians to be so enthusiastic and supportive despite hearing so much from the band major at home. and congratulations to deyi for clinching the best drum major n best band award 2008. they deserved that award! overall, the experience tat evening was just FULFILLING.
dinner at seoul garden aft syf was just gorging food into my stomach. we were eating lk PIGS!! throughout dinner, i kept recalling joseph's disappointed face. n i just cant forget. aft dinner we went to chit chat and finally at ard 1145, it was home sweet home.
reached home, n cj was still at my place waiting for me to be home so she could show me her soccer ball frm the flute section. stayed up to abt 215 n she went home. mr poh gave yl a card n i read it. one part tat i totally agreed with him was "for me, band is not only a place to learn music, but more so a place and avenue to build character..."
shall turn in now. hope no one suffers frm monday blues tmr! =)
