Promise Keepers
Tuesday, June 5, 2007, 12:02 PM
so many men have such good intentions. that's y they say yes to their wives and children so often. unfortunately, those yes's soon become no's, plans change and other pressures take priority. and this turns many men into promise breakers.are you a promise breaker or a promise keeper? how would your children answer if we ask them that question? on monday, one son asks his father, "dad can we go bowling on saturday?" the father says "yeah, sure" without really thinking. the days pass and then fri comes and the man's bo go oss calls and ask if he can come in for a few hours on staurday. or an army buddy calls and asks if he wants to go for a tennis game. with him on saturday. the man says yes. come saturday morning, there is his son waiting for him at the breakfast table with his bowling gear ready by the door. "sorry son", the man says, "i forgot about bowling. daddy has to work today." maybe next week or the week after that, or the week after that. another promise has been broken. what the world needs and what your children need are a few more promise keepers and few less promise breakers. is there a commitment that you've made recently that you've pushed to the back of your mind? it's not too late to redeem that promise. - taken from TODAY, 4/6/07. it impacts me. becos my dad is like that too. he promised me a crayfish noodle in chinatown for 1/2 a year. and it nv came. there are also so many promise breakers in my life, that they make me think if even my closest frens are worth the trust. ppl always find excuse for their mistakes. and they nv realise how it ticks others' nerves when they NEVER EVER keep to their promises. what r promises for if they won't meant to be kept at the 1st place?! -reflection- ♥ shanjoo
